Formation

Mission Statement
As members of the Religious Education Program, we will strive to bring holiness and better understanding of faith to each student’s life. To help them share and discover God’s creation in themselves and their family. To welcome and embrace each of the Holy Sacraments and to share in their holiness. We have been chosen by Christ, just as sure as the apostles were. He has given us a gift. Although we may never see what we accomplish, we know we have given our best and we have been an important part in the life of the children we teach.

LIFE TEEN (High School Catechesis and Ministry)
As LIFE TEEN Core Members we will strive to assist and challenge teens in discovering whom God created them to be, by embracing life as brave warriors of Christ and defending the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. We desire a freedom that will only be obtained through our own personal sanctification and self sacrifice. We will strive to be virtuous, loving, compassionate, genuine and humble servants of Christ.

RCIA

RCIA is bringing the “GOOD NEWS” alive in the Modern World.

The letters “RCIA” stand for the “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults” the formation of RCIA was a direct result of the Second Vatican Council and now is the primary process for those who are seeking full communion into the Catholic Faith.

The RCIA describes a process in which Men and Women are guided and cared for as they awaken in faith and are gradually introduced to the Catholic Way of Life.

The RCIA process is a series of carefully planned stages , marked by liturgical rites in the presence of the whole community, in which new Catholics embark on and join us in a continuing and deepening conversion into faith and discipleship. The RCIA takes into account the spiritual needs of each person differentiating between the baptized and the non-baptized the catechized and non-catechized.

The RCIA draws it’s model from the “Catechumneate” of the ancient Church. Becoming Christian in the early days of the Church involved a sharp break with the surrounding culture. New Christians entered into the joy of new life and a life sharing community of faith but also entered into a way of living which demanded deep commitment and entailed great risk. In the modern world our faith also demands deep commitment – our beliefs and the beliefs of our society are often in tension.

This Faith Journey culminates at the Easter Vigil where the candidates experience the Joy’s of the Risen Christ and are Fully Initiated through the Sacraments of Baptism, The Eucharist, and the Sacrament of Confirmation thus becoming disciples of Christ ready to Proclaim the Good News to the ends of the Earth
