Clean Out the Closet Sale

This weekend, after all the Masses, our High School Ministry Program is cleaning out its closet and selling the T-Shirts we’ve accumulated over the years. Each shirt will be sold for $10.00. So bring some cash to support our young people!

Next weekend, September 24th and 25th, our High School Ministry will once again join LIFE TEEN Parishes around the world for a drive to help those in need. This year we are hosting a Baby Item drive. At all the door next weekend we will have collection bins to collect baby items. We want to invite you to join us and LIFE TEEN Parishes around the world to be Pro-Life and help women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy.

All items that are collected will be to the New Life Center in Opelousas, LA. The New Life Center is run by the Lafayette Catholic Service Centers. Please help us help moms in need.

Type of Items we are looking for:

  • Baby Bottles
  • Diapers (all sizes)
  • Wipes
  • Pacifiers
  • Baby Soap
  • Baby Shampoo
  • Baby Powder
  • Desitin (Ointments)
  • Etc.

This will be the 4th year our Parish joins a Global Drive. Last we helped collect change to build clean water drinking wells in Africa. The goal was to collect $50,000 to build 4 wells. To-date, we helped collect over $200,000 and helped to build 18 clean water drinking wells. Please help once again! Thank you for your continued generosity.

 

Registration for Catechesis

Next Sunday, September 18, 2011 is the deadline to register for our High School Catechesis. If you are in high school or you have a child in high school, who is planning to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, you must register by next Sunday. Each student must complete two years of LIFE Nights before entering the Confirmation program. If you miss the deadline, you will be required to make up the year, thus delaying your reception of the Sacrament.

Likewise, the deadline to register K-8th grade catechesis is Tuesday, September 27th. If your child is not registered by then, the will be required to sit this year out, thus delaying the reception of their Sacraments.
