Easter Sunday
"Faith in the resurrection of Jesus says that there us a future for every human being; the cry for unending life which is part of the person is indeed answered. Through Jesus we do know 'the room where exiled loves lays down its victory.' He himself is this place, and he calls us to be with him and in dependance on him. He calls us to keep this place open in the world so that he, the exiled love, may reappear over and over in the world… God exists: that is the real message of Easter. Anyone who even begins to grasp what this means also knows what it means to be redeemed."
Pope Benedict XVI

Good Friday
Can You imagine what a Crucifixion is?
My executioner's stretch out my arms, they hold my hand and my wrist against the wood and press the nail until it stabs my flesh. Then, with one heavy hammer smash, they drive it through - and pain bursts like a bomb of fire in my brain. They seize the other arm; and agony again explodes.
Then raising my knees so that my feet are flat against the wood, they hammer them fast, too.

"When the Lord of the world comes and undertakes the slaves taks of foot-washing - which is an illustration of the way he washes our feet all through our lives - we have a totally different picture. God doesn't want to trample on us, but kneels down before us so as to exalt us. The mystery of the greatness of God is seen precisely in the fact that he can be small… Only when power is changed from the inside, and we accept Jesus and His way of life, whose whole self is there in the act of foot-washing, only then can the world be healed and the people be able to live at peace with one another." Pope Benedict XVI

Somehow, during the hustle and bustle of this week, Jesus had arranged for a place to have this dinner. He sent His Disciples into Jerusalem to find this place and to prepare for this dinner. The Passover Dinner that was the turning point between His Triumphant Entry and His Death on the Cross. The Passover Dinner, with all of it's symbolism, that was used by Jesus to explain His Ministry one last time.
Passion Sunday (Palm Sunday)
The Coming of Our King
"Look, your King is coming to you in all gentleness." This coming of Christ is for the redemption and salvation of both Jew and Gentile. It was as though He were saying, I, the King of Heaven am no alien but your very own. It is to you He comes, and therough the assumption of your own humanity, in the most intimate manner possible. It is certainly for our salvation the our King has come and in no sense for his own, since He has no need of help while assuredly have, we who are destitute and outlawed and in sore need of the Lord's assistance. So "He comes to raise the needy from the dust and from the mire the poor." To raise from the earth those who are besmirched with sin - those, that is, without spiritual resources, from pleasures of the world - and from the slough of vice all who are devoid of virtue. Nor is it with anger or with threats that this king of heaven and earth arrives to visit us, but rather with all gentleness and humilty, so much so that "he did not shrink from the embrace of death, even death on a cross."
Indeed, so utterly did he efface himself for our salvation that during his passion it even seemed as if God had abandoned him so that he was impelled to cry out from the cross, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"
